Fresh Foodservice To Be Focal Point At 2017 NACS Show

The National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Show this year will be in Chicago from October 18-20, with all the latest C-store trends on display. While some trends come and go, others have the disruptive power to change the industry. At this year’s NACS Show, two words are anticipated to be on everyone’s minds: “foodservice” and “fresh.”

How C-stores are exploring the “fresh” take on foodservice

C-store owners come to the NACS Show each year looking to pick up innovative ideas to grow their customer base and boost profits. With fewer profits at the pump, C-store owners are strengthening their focus on other areas. One constant has been the desire to upgrade foodservice programs in C-stores.

Foodservice remains the biggest average profit area of C-stores, and store owners are seeing that foodservice’s greatest opportunity is the new business that comes from using their position of convenience to serve fresh, healthy foods.

“We can expect NACS Show attendees to be seeking novel solutions in foodservice that effectively answer the question: ‘How do I bring that new consumer into my store, instead of them going to the C-store or QSR down the road?’” reports Ted Asprooth, C-store industry veteran and Antunes Business Development Manager. “The growing market segments of women, families, and millenials want something fresh.
